The plans have been submitted for a 30,000 sq ft Culture Hub in Wythenshawe as part of the £500m regeneration of the town centre.
The Culture Hub, which will take the place of the vacant Co-op store will contain space for food and drink on the ground floor, and a mix of flexible community and studio spaces to host workshops, exhibitions, classes and community events on the first floor. The second floor will also feature a 200-seat performance space complete with rehearsal rooms, studios and changing rooms.
Roscoe undertook detailed structural investigations to increase the capacity of the existing structure with minimal interventions. If planning is approved, construction will start in summer 2025 with the hub due to open late 2026.
